1-Day Khargone City Tour
Morning — Navagraha Mandir (2 hours)
Perform darshan at the sacred Navagraha Mandir on the banks of the Kunda River. Walk the Parikrama Sthali (circumambulation path) around the temple complex.
Midday — Lunch
Head to a local restaurant and try Dal-Bafla or a full Nimadi Thali — the signature meal of the region.
Afternoon — Explore
Visit the Navdatoli archaeological site (if combined with a Maheshwar side trip) or explore Khargone’s main bazaar and local temples.
Evening — Kunda River & Street Food
Take a leisurely walk along the Kunda River at sunset. End the day with street food for dinner — try Poha-Jalebi at a stall near the bus stand.
2-Day Khargone + Maheshwar
Day 1 — Khargone & Oon
Morning
Navagraha Mandir darshan and Kunda River walk.
Afternoon
Drive to Oon temples (35 km, about 1 hour). Explore the stunning Bhumija-style architecture of the ancient Jain and Hindu temples.
Evening
Return to Khargone for dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 2 — Maheshwar
Morning
Drive to Maheshwar (60 km, 1.5 hours). Visit Ahilya Fort, the museum, and the Rehwa Society to see handloom Maheshwari sarees being woven.
Afternoon
Explore the ancient ghats and temples along the Narmada. Take a boat ride on the river (~₹50 per person).
Evening
Attend the evening aarti at 8 PM on the ghats — a serene and memorable experience. Return to Khargone.

3-Day Complete Narmada Valley Circuit
The recommended trip for first-time visitors.
Day 1 — Khargone & Oon
Same as Day 1 of the 2-day itinerary: Navagraha Mandir, Kunda River, and the Oon temples.
Day 2 — Maheshwar (Full Day)
Morning
Ahilya Fort, museum, ghats, and Rehwa Society (Maheshwari saree weaving).
Afternoon
Visit Sahastradhara Waterfall (7 km from Maheshwar). Take a boat ride on the Narmada. Explore the temples along the ghats.
Evening
Attend the 8 PM evening aarti on the ghats. Stay overnight in Maheshwar.
Day 3 — Omkareshwar
Morning
Drive to Omkareshwar (75 km from Maheshwar via Khargone). Visit the sacred Jyotirlinga temple, one of the twelve most revered Shiva shrines in India.
Midday – Afternoon
Walk the 7 km parikrama (circumambulation) around the Om-shaped island (3–4 hours) or take a boat for a shorter tour (~30 minutes). Visit Mamleshwar temple on the south bank.
Evening
Return journey.
